What is Running Boot Camp?

Long Beach Running Boot Camp (RBC) is for everyone - walkers are welcome! The ultimate goal of RBC is to be able to meet your personal running goal, whether it is to just start running, to run a 5k in under 20 mins, or to be able to complete a marathon. Everyone, both runners and “non-runners,” are welcome and encouraged to give it a try!

This is a fun 8-week running program geared toward all ages and abilities. It's not about being a track star or an elite athlete. It's about being the best YOU can be. There is NO COMPETITION. You will feel motivated and empowered! It’s about setting a goal and achieving it with the help of the other running boot campers. No matter your age, size or fitness level, you can achieve great results without injuring yourself during the process. As a Running Boot Camper, you will gain confidence, endurance, speed, and find your legs leaner and stronger.

You don't have to be a runner to begin; you just have to have the desire.

Register to become a Running Boot Camper now! Be sure to get in on the next Running Boot Camp Session. If you happened to find us in the middle of a session, give us a call, we may be able to let you join mid-session! We meet M-F from 5:20am - 6:30am.

What to Expect:

There are 5 different running locations that we use to mix it up and keep it fun! Mondays are a run where we focus on proper warm up techniques, foam rolling, stretching, proper form, and time. This is where you can start to work toward achieving your personal best! Tuesdays and Thursdays are cross-training days where we focus on specific cross training exercises to help your overall running shape and form. Wednesdays are where we work on interval training/speed work and discuss specific endurance related nutrition. Fridays are our long runs. This is where we focus on endurance. Every day is a different day to keep you on your running toes!

You don't have to be a great runner to begin. You may be surprised at how well you do.

Why We Are Different:

1. We focus on injury prevention through foam rolling, creating structural balance, strength, integrity and mobility in your muscles and joints. Basically we train your body to avoid injury.

2. We encourage cross-training and have implemented it into our program on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s - it cannot be overlooked!

3. We cover sport-specific nutritional guidance. We all want to know what to eat before a race and during our training. Timmie will go over nutritional do’s and don’ts to help you with your running performance.

Reaching Personal Goals:

We all train according to our own individual goals.
We hope that by then end of this 8-week camp your goal along with your confidence will grow into something you never thought you could accomplish. By entering a 5k, half marathon or full marathon, you will feel motivated. Your reward will come in your completion - no matter your time.

Running Boot Camp Details:

5 Days a week (M-F)
5:20 a.m. - 6:30 a.m. or
5:20 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Muscular strengthening & interval training for speed & improved recovery
Hill training & stair workouts
Learn Self Myofascial Release (SMR) techniques - foam rolling for injury prevention
Receive proper cross-training exercises that are FUN
Slow Tempo Runs & Fun Runs
For beginner runners expect 2-5% body fat reduction & 5-12 lbs. of body weight loss

5 days/week ($10.00/class) = $400  (equivalent of $200/month)
4 days/week ($11.50/class) = $368  (equivalent of $184/month)
3 days/week ($12.50/class) = $300  (equivalent of $150/month)
