Come "up the ante" and lay all your cards out in the Weight Loss Challenge. The stakes are high, competition fierce, and believe it or not...everyone still wins!! By entering the weight loss challenge, you have already won. It shows your commitment to yourself and dedication to your weight loss goals. Even thought money is involved, keep in mind. inner happiness with ones self can bring more joy than any "greenback" can. With that said, let's all drop a few dollars for a great cause, and drop a whole lotta pounds!
This month we are conducting a weight loss challenge. Everyone is excited to get into that bathing suit and board shorts this summer.....and summer is just around the corner. So to help you achieve your fitness goals, we have put together a motivational Weight Loss Challenge to jump-start your weight loss for summer.
Overall weight loss will be determined by % of body weight lost. That way everyone has an equal chance to compete with one another. This is how they do it on the hit NBC reality show "Biggest Loser". There will be 3 overall winners that will win cold, hard, cash! Who's up for the challenge?
- Each contestant must pay $20 the first weigh in and attend the first and last weigh in to remain eligible.
- Each contestant must pay $2 for EACH pound gained in 1 week time, at time of weigh in to remain eligible.
- If you know that you will miss your weigh in class, you can attend any of the 3 classes (5:30-630am, 9-10am, 7-8pm) on that Friday to stay eligible in the competition.
- Weight loss by % of total body weight will be calculated each week. The 3 people across all 3 classes with the biggest % of weight loss over the boot camp period wins. Prize money will be dispersed amongst the 3 winners.
- Each contestant will weigh in with his or her shoes on. Taking off shoes takes too much time. Try and wear the same outfit and/or shoes to keep the weigh in consistent.
- Each contestant will be weighed in by Caroline Fiegen or Shannon Paul to remain eligible.
- All scores will be added to spreadsheet and weight loss % will be calculated on site.
- The final Friday of the 4-week or 6-week session the winner will be announced in the 7-8pm class. Please attend this evening session to claim your prize.
- Total financial commitment is $20, unless weight is gained during the competition.
- Contestants must continue to keep eating based on the recommendations of Long Beach Boot Camp and Lauren Squier (Registered Dietitian), no starving yourself. There is a dietician that can help you with your food if you feel you are too low or high in your caloric consumption during the competition.
- No crash diets are acceptable, you must follow what we have recommended in class.
- No diet pills or crash diets are allowed.
- This competition is to encourage healthy, fun weight loss.
