Weight Loss ChallengeFor June, July & August 2010, in lieu of our usual 4-week Weight Loss Challenge, we will be having our 30-60-90 Day Challenge. Learn More about 30-60-90
Chub rub?...Muffin top?...Beer gut?...Love handles?...Double chin?...Back butt?....Do these sound like familiar terms you name the areas of your body that you creatively try and make invisible?....Well if so... this challenge is for you!Come "up the ante" and lay all your cards out in the Weight Loss Challenge. The stakes are high, competition fierce, and believe it or not...everyone wins!! By entering the Weight Loss Challenge, you have already won. It shows your commitment to yourself and dedication to your weight loss goals. Even though money is involved, keep in mind inner happiness with ones self can bring more joy than any "greenback" can. With that said, let's all drop a few dollars for a great cause, and drop a whole lotta pounds! Each session we will be conducting a weight loss challenge. Everyone is excited to get into that bathing suit and board shorts this summer.....and summer is always just around the corner. So to help you achieve your fitness goals, we have put together a motivational Weight Loss Challenge to jump-start your weight loss! Overall weight loss will be determined by % of body weight lost. That way everyone has an equal chance to compete with one another. This is how they do it on the hit NBC reality show "Biggest Loser". There will be many overall winners that will win cold, hard, cash a free Long Beach Boot Camp or many other donated prizes! Who's up for the challenge? Here are the rules:1. Each contestant must pay $20 to become eligible for prizes 2. Each contestant must pay $2 for each pound (or portion thereof) gained in 1 week's time (at the time of weigh-in) to remain eligible. Examples: 1 pound gained = $2 ; 1.5 pounds gained = $4 ; 2.2 pounds gained = $6 3. If you know that you will miss your weigh in class, you can attend any of the 7 class times (5:30-630am, 7-8am, 9-10am, 3:30-4:30pm, 4-5pm, 5:30-5:60pm, 7-8pm) on that Monday or Tuesday to weigh-in and remain eligible in the competition. 4. Final weigh-in will be the last Tuesday of your session. You MUST weigh-in the final week. A winners list will be available online and announced in class on the final Thursday &/or Friday of your session. You DO NOT have to be present on Friday to collect your prize(s), but please contact the office to let us know when you will be able to receive it. 5. Weight loss by % of total body weight will be calculated each week. The top people across all classes with the biggest % of weight loss over the 4-week or 3-week period win. Prizes and prize $ will be dispersed among the top 3-8 winners depending on the amount of prizes and prize $ raised. 6. Each contestant will weigh in with their SHOES ON. Taking off shoes takes too much time. Try and wear the same outfit and/or shoes to keep the weigh in consistent. 7. Each contestant must be weighed in by a Long Beach Boot Camp Instructor/Staff to remain eligible. 8. If you participated in the Weight Loss Challenge last Camp, your Week 1 weight of your current camp can't be more than 3 pounds heavier than your Week 4 weight from last Camp. 9. You must be enrolled in a Long Beach Boot Camp session to be eligible. This is a friendly competition to help promote weight loss. Financial commitment is $20, unless weight is gained during the competition (see rule #2). 10. Contestants must continue to keep eating in a healthy manner - no starving yourself! There is a dietitian that can help you with your nutiriotn/food intake if you feel you are too low or high in your caloric consumption during the competition. 11. No crash diets are acceptable, please follow the nutrition recomendations we provide. 12. No diet pills are allowed. 13. This competition is to encourage healthy, fun weight loss. 14. Some of you DO NOT need to lose weight! This competition was created to be a fun and motivational way to encourage people to drop the weight they need or want to lose.
