What can I say about LBBC? I really can’t say enough good things about Shannon and Caroline and the great program at LBBC. So, bear with me, and I’ll tell you my story.

I started attending boot camp with both Shannon and Caroline as trainers in early 2007 and have been attending the 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. women-only class five days a week on an-almost full-time basis ever since. What initially brought me to boot camp was the realization that, although I’ve never been a "couch potato," I had no upper-body strength (which I found out when I could barely lift my diving gear when I learned to scuba dive in 2006) and, in addition, my daily walking regimen of 3-4 miles a day was no longer doing anything for me.

Knowing that the benefits I would reap from the LBBC program would depend on my dedication and attitude, I also found that the positive reinforcement, very caring and very knowledgeable trainers, the guidance to "do your personal best and don’t worry about what anyone else is doing," the camaraderie developed with fellow campers (to name just a few aspects of the program) all added up to a great experience. Personally, LBBC has given me, not only the much-needed and necessary upper body strength, but also the comprehensive, overall conditioning which has contributed to making me a stronger, healthier woman. and that conditioning is what has moved me to write this testimonial.

From late 2007 until the present, I have been dealing with shoulder issues as a result of a fall off a ladder in November 2007. In mid-June 2008, I underwent right shoulder rotator cuff surgery. In October 2008, I returned to boot camp. Then, in mid-April 2009, I again underwent right shoulder surgery to correct "surgery complications," i.e. the removal of an auxiliary
anchor which had come loose within a week of my June 2008 surgery. Throughout my surgery recovery periods, Shannon (because by now Caroline was teaching co-ed classes), has consistently supervised and dealt with my shoulder issues, all while teaching class and dealing with other campers’ issues.

Although I have accomplished many personal firsts at LBBC, I’m proudest of the progress I have made in my physical condition and overall strength. You see, on12/26/09 I fell and dislocated my already-surgically-repaired right shoulder. The good news about the dislocation is that the ER crew told me that my good physical condition and overall strength assisted them in successfully relocating my shoulder, prevented my injury from being worse, and also, may even have eliminated the need for more surgical intervention. Is that great or what? So, my thanks to Shannon and yes, Caroline, and the
great LBBC program. Try it, you’ll like it!

OOOOPS! I forgot . . . my name is Betty and I am 72 years old.
