How did Adventure Boot Camp get its start?
Long Beach Adventure Boot Camp was started in October of 2005. I started the outdoor boot camp because I was tired of being locked up indoors with all of the other gym goers and trainers. I wanted to change up what the “normal” workout routine consisted of. With Long Beach Adventure Boot Camp, women and men can now enjoy working out at their own pace in a fun and supportive environment away from the florescent lights at the gyms!
How long is the Boot Camp?
Boot camp is one hour in length each day, Monday through Friday.
What activities does the camp offer?
Exercises include: core conditioning, short distance running (less than one mile), lunges, muscular strength, jumping rope, circuit training, hiking (at Signal Hill), obstacle courses, PAR course, push-ups, Pilates, surprises, and more!
What goes on at the Boot Camp?
Boot camp is a place where women and men of all walks of life come together for one hour in the morning to make a difference in their life. These boot-campers challenge themselves physically and mentally to get through the work out. Some of the boot-campers use the camp as a way to motivate themselves enough just to get out of bed and face the day. Others use it to challenge their bodies to become as fit and healthy as they can.

My bachelors degree is in kinesiology from San Diego State University. I have worked in various physical therapy clinics, was the director of pain elimination centers and was the fitness director of gyms.
What are three words that describe you?
Fun, spontaneous and intelligent.
What is the most adventurous thing that you have done?
The most adventurous thing I have done would be hiking through bamboo forests on cliffs in Maui. It was an incredible adventure that led us to a murky pool with no way to get to the waterfall without swimming across the 200 meter water hole. Once across we found a remote waterfall. Of course we had to test our diving skills off of the waterfall.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to travel. I want to see the world. If I can be out doors hiking or just walking a new place, I am a happy camper!
