Week 3

More Coordination

What it means:

  1. Understanding the flow of class.

  2. Recognizing names of exercises & how to perform them properly without requiring trainer direction or camper cues.

Because you are:

  1. Showing up to class & putting in 100% of your effort.

  2. Listening to your trainer & following their advice.

More Strength/ Muscle Tone

What it means:

  1. Checking out yourself in the mirror.

  2. Fitting into your clothes better.

  3. Appreciating the “tight” feeling in your muscles.

Because you are:

  1. Burning fat & building calorie-burning muscle.

  2. Working hard in & outside of class.

  3. Following nutrition advice – properly fueling your body, increasing your metabolism.

New Challenges

What it means:

  1. Setting new goals for yourself (beyond attendance). This could mean finally conquering nutrition/journaling, committing yourself to a 5 or 10K, planning a trip (even a hike, paddle, or bike ride) that requires your fitness to enjoy.

  2. Increasing your intensity. This could mean trying the longer run, doing more reps, using better form, doing a modification to make an exercise harder, or working out on your “off” days.

Because you are:

  1. Showing up to class to let us inspire, motivate & push you.

  2. Stronger, more confident, more determined.

  3. Becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable.

  4. Aspiring towards being the person you want to be.

Muscle Soreness

What it means:

  1. Pushing limits of your muscles’ threshold – result of a motivated workout.

  2. Muscle Confusion.

Because you are:

  1. Giving 100% of your efforts your workouts – not conserving your energy to the end.

  2. Increasing your intensity. Soreness is not only normal, but it is good. Your body will get too efficient when it is used to the same routine. When the muscle soreness goes away, change it up. If you are in boot camp the exercises are always keeping your body on its toes, so increase your intensity to keep your body from getting too “comfortable.”

*Remember: Become comfortable with being uncomfortable.
