Trader Joes


Things that help keep me successful often come from Trader Joes:

  • Organic brown rice (find it in the frozen section)
  • Reduced Guilt Pita Chips w/ sea salt - only 2 1/2 grams of fat per serving! Crunchy and yummy!
  • TJ's soy meatballs
  • Fat Free Kettle Corn - they have a package of 8 individual serving size bags which helps take the guess work out of how much to eat. And easy to sneak into the movie theater!!
  • Frozen gnocchi - not sure how this rates on calories, but I seem to recall that an entire bag was under 12 weight watcher points, which isn't bad for a meal.
  • Soycatash/Frozen veggies -  a mix w/ soy beans, corn, and red bell pepper.  I like to mix this with the organic brown rice, mashed up soy meatballs and an egg (or egg beaters)

Trader Joes

I LOVE Trader Joes and do all my shopping there and at the local farmers markets.  Some of my favorites include:

Honey whole wheat bread - so dense, full of protein, whole grain and fiber you only need one slice

Natural peanut butter/almond butter with flax seeds

Fresh shelled edamame beans in the cold case - toss in olive oil, season to taste (paprika, cajun, salt, pepper, whatever moves you) and roast at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, delicious!

Creamy yogurt cups in 6- packs - so rich and creamy, the banana flavor rocks!

Nonfat Greek yogurt

Soy/flaxseed tortilla chips in spicy and veggie flavors - great with hummus

Sparkling pomegranite juice

Roasted Red Pepper/Tomato Soup in the box - completes a meal with bread, salad
