Creating New Neural Pathways

Shown below are PET scans for someone with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder having undergone 10 weeks of behavioral therapy [Four-Step Method] without medication. The right caudate nucleus (rCd), which is believed to be the dysfunctional area of the brain for those suffering with OCD, decreased in size which signifies decrease in energy use.

Good news!

This means we are not bound by our brain's current pathways - we can create new ones!
We can choose our responses and reactions to events that may have put us over the edge in the past. This is our proof that we can change. We can re-learn. We can choose a better way that serves our purpose.

This is just one of the many philosophies that Cori has incorporated into her Access Awareness Choice & Fulfillment Process.

Figure 3. PET scan showing decreased energy use in the right caudate nucleus (which appears on the left side in a PET scan) in a person with OCD after successful treatment with the FOUR Step Method. PRE Shows the brain before and POST ten weeks after behavioral therapy with no medication. Note the decrease in "size," which signifies decrease in energy use, in the right caudate (rCd) after doing the Four-Step Method. The drawings show where the caudate nucleus is located inside the head.
