Shannon,
It is Day 25 of our 90 Day Challenge and in a few days we will celebrate the 4th of July weekend with barbecues and fireworks!
Independence Day reminds us to cherish our freedom, examine our rights for ourselves and responsibilities to our neighbors, and to not take advantage of what people have died (and continue to die) for.
This is going somewhere health-related, I promise ;)
In order to maintain our freedom and a civil society, we have to follow the rules of the system: be tax-paying and law-abiding good citizens, doing the right thing by others. The perfect complement to the east coast's Statue of Liberty would be a west coast Statue of Responsibility.
So what's my point?
Well, the same could be said for our health!
In order to maintain a healthy body we know what we have to do... and yet many of us try to cheat the system. We have taken advantage of our biological systems in order to 'get by' with what is convenient or feels good. The body, however, is one system that you just can't cheat. It is a matter of science - action/reaction. Pills and pollution have side-effects, and there is just no substitution for hard work and clean living.
With a little personal responsibility we can get back to living free and abundant lives, thriving in our pursuit of happiness.
Cheers to choices that give us more freedom!

When attempting to communicate how and what Cori does, I can't think of enough analogies for 'being able to see it more clearly' to adequately convey how Cori gives vision to everyone she helps. When you see it, you can begin to understand it - to change your perceptions and reactions.
 Couldn't see the forest for all the trees...
As though I was given goggles to see in a pool of murky water...
Like being able to see the golf ball flying toward my face... and finally learning how to dodge it.
Since starting my work with Cori I feel so much has opened up for me. Sometimes I wonder if she can see some sort of blinking sign over my head that tells her when to have me stop and give another look at what it is I am really saying. I say it again until I see it too. She lets me get there. Always leading; never pushing.
She seems to have a gift for seeing truth, and she creates a space where there is comfort in that awareness. A space where you can begin to see it, understand it, choose how you want to shift in accordance with your new perspective, and ultimately find fulfillment in your life.

Injury Prevention

Cardiovascular fitness will begin to wain after only 2 weeks (for some of us even faster), and you will start losing muscle about 3-4 weeks after falling off the wagon of your exercise routine. The last thing you want to lose when trying to lose weight is that beautiful, fat-burning muscle! Muscle also helps to support joints so it is vital in preventing injury.
Many of us return from a "break" from working out thinking we can do the same things we were able to do before our hiatus.
Note to self: Jo, don't EVER do that again!
Keeping your exercise routine consistent will prevent you from these moments of overdoing it and ending up in the doctor's office. Be smart. Use it or lose it!

Caroline's 1st Week Back...

OK so I started my journey as mommy last Wednesday, [June 9th]. It was a trip! It is a gift, a present I feel as if I don't deserve. Its one of those things you say "that will never happen to me." Then, it did. Such a wonderful experience happened in my life! I am honored to be a mother.
The moment Alexa came out I looked at Shawdee and even at myself differently. As for Alexa, I looked at her and have hardly stopped. I see that kid and think to myself, "I got you girl! You can rely on me. I'm gonna be there for you whenever, whatever." I look at Shawdee and think, "I have so much respect for you. You are amazing. Umm... speechless." As for myself, I feel honored to have a life relying on me, well, two lives now. I feel encouraged to be a harder worker, more understanding and patient, and now embrace the courage to change.
